Submission Guidelines

The Journal, Journal for Equitable Research in Multidisciplinary Studies is peer reviewed and published half early by the Jadavpur University Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Teachers’ and Officers’ Association. It contains full length papers, short communication on all aspects of research deemed relevant to the professionals, academicians and researchers in allied fields. Following are the guidelines for submission of papers to the journal.

The paper should be typed in Times New Roman font. 12 points in double space on one side of A4 size paper with margins of at least 1.5 inches and should not exceed 5000 words/12 pages, including original drawings, essential tables and cited references. Manuscripts shall be submitted in .doc/.docx/.rtf/.pdf file formats. The diagrams used in the paper also be submitted separately in jpeg / tiff files. Authors are given intimation immediately after the manuscript is reviewed and considered for publication. The papers will not be returned to the authors in case of rejection or delay in publication. The copyright will belong to Jadavpur University Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Teachers’ and Officers’ Association and authors.

The paper should also contain (i) A short title, (ii) An abstract of the paper not exceeding 100 words along with at least five keywords. All references to books, articles and other sources should be cited in the text by noting in parentheses the last name of the author, the year of publication and page numbers. All references should follow the APA Style guidelines for in-text citations and appear in the reference list at the bottom of pages. All other references to be given at the end.

  • In-Text Citations

    Paraphrasing (author and year)

    Example: Climate change poses serious risks to global health (Smith, 2020).

    Or: Smith (2020) argues that climate change poses serious risks to global health.

  • Direct Quotation (author, year, page number)

    Example: “Climate change is the biggest health challenge of the century” (Smith, 2020, p. 45).

    Or: Smith (2020) stated that “climate change is the biggest health challenge of the century” (p. 45).

  • Two Authors
    • Example: (Smith & Lee, 2019)

      Or: Smith and Lee (2019) argue that …

  • Three or More Authors
    • Example: (Patel et al., 2021)

      Or: Patel et al. (2021) found that …

  • References other than books and articles (i.e., conference papers, mimeos) should mention full details of the material cited.
  • Ibid, op.cit, loc. cit. etc. not to be used anywhere in the References.
  • Maps, charts, tables, photographs and diagrams should be of good quality suitable for reproduction on the page format (14 cm x 8 cm) of the journal and should be captioned. Measurement should be in the international system of units (SI).The oxford English diction, spelling should be followed.

While submitting a paper for publication in the Journal for Equitable Research in Multidisciplinary Studies, the author(s) should ensure that the concerned paper has not been published and would not be submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors must submit the originality report of plagiarism along with the submitted paper. The Chief Editor/s and Managing Editor/s are endowed with full right to edit and adjust paper in order to conform to the format of the journal.

Jadavpur University Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Teachers’ and Officers’ Association or The Chief Editor/s and Managing Editor/s will not be held responsible for the views expressed by the author(s) in the published paper. Papers not conforming to the above rules may not be considered for electronic publication. Papers, book reviews etc. are accepted for electronic publication with the approval of the Publication Committee, Chief Editor/s or Managing Editor/s of the Association.

  • Acceptance 2 weeks
  • Publication 1/2 weeks after acceptance
